About

What is there to know? I’m the Dish. So that’s what you call me, you know? That or, uh, Discher, or His Dishness, or El Disherino, if you’re not into that whole brevity thing.
Seriously though, I’m Eric. Most people call me Dish because of my last name, Discher. I know, there’s a “c” between the “s” and “h”, so in reality it should be spelled “Disch”, but I spell it Dish. Amusingly enough, most people, just to try to get my name correct, will spell it “Disch” in emails. I assure you, it’s quite ok to leave out the “c”.
I’ve always wanted a website of some relevance. Somewhere to put my thoughts, some pictures, and other stuff. Basically a hub of me. Or as I like to call it, “The Dish in a one-stop-shopping experience.” I write about sports, life, most recently home-brewing, and just geeky tech gadgets that I’m currently obsessed with. Oh yeah, and sports.
Speaking of sports, mostly I’ll write about the NJ Devils and Boston Red Sox. Those are my two teams for which I am truly fanatical. On a level just slightly under them is Penn State football. Then one level down is the NY Football Giants. I’m starting to follow NASCAR, as I spent time working on it this year. My favorite driver is Matt Kenseth. I like Matt because he reminds me of the Devils. No one ever talks about him(them), but in the end he always seems to be around near the front, just like the Devils. More recently I’ve been trying to get into English Premier League soccer. It’s difficult, because the games aren’t really available on TV. But, thanks to work, I can always keep up with a game. I’ve always liked Liverpool as an English city. Having never been there, I’m sure it has something to do with these guys. So I started rooting for Liverpool FC.
I spent the first 28 years of my life in the great state of NJ. Kearny, to be more specific. In August of 2006 I was hired by ESPN in Bristol, CT. I now spend my work time (if you can call it that) serving as the associate director of many of ESPN’s shows.
At home, there is my lovely wife, Lisa. We’ve been married since May, 2004 and have been together since December 1996. We have two cats. Sox and Cally. What can I say, they like water.
